Two motorcyclists have killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a motorbike on the Ayeyawady Bridge, the longest of its kind in Myanmar, in Pakkoku Township, Magway Region on 25 October.


A passenger bus on the way to Pakkoku from NyaungU collided with a motorbike coming from an opposite direction on the bridge and two motorcyclists identified as Moe Kaung (alias) Aung Naing Tun, 20 years old and his colleague Nyan Lin Htet, 23 years old were pronounced dead on the spot. The corpses of the twon motorcyclists were sent to a public hospital in Pakkoku.


Action is being taken against the passenger bus driver and the motorcyclist over reckless driving by the local police.
