SECURITY forces deactivated two remote-controlled land mines planted by the AA group near Kyauktaw in Rakhine State yesterday, according to news released by the military.

 

Security forces found one remote-controlled improvised explosive device, or IED, on an earthen road leading to Kyauktaw, and cleared the site.

 

They found another IED and one Samsung mobile phone about 50 metres north of the first site. Since January, 14 landmines planted by AA have been discovered and deactivated in 43 instances in Rakhine State, according to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services.
