Patheingyi 11 December

Two men including a firefighter were injured in a patrol station fire in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region on 9 December.

The fire started when three men were unloading gasoline barrels from a storage facility to a 12-wheeled truck in the compound of a filling station in Thammantaw Village, Patheingyi Township at about 10:20 a.m. on 9 December. The fire spread nearby walls of a four-storey building but had ceased about an hour later. The fire destroyed 1250 gallons of gasoline, 75 empty barrels, one warehouse and one vehicle.

In addition, two men were slightly hurt in the fire and they have been sent to a public hospital in Mandalay. An employee of the filling station identified as Hla Myo Aung (aka) Aung Thu is being questioned over fire negligence by the local police.—MOHA
