Two men have died on the scene in a traffic accident between a car and a motorbike in Nawnkhio Township, Shan State, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The tragic accident occurred between mileposts 62/4 and 62/5 on the Union Road near Yaywin Village, Nawnkhio Township at around 9:45 a.m. on 25 November. A motorbike with two men was hit by a motorcar coming from the same direction and fled from the scene. Two motorcyclists identified as U Win Myint, 57 years old and Aung Naing, 30 years old were pronounced dead on the spot.

The car which fled from the scene of accident was found in the compound of a sugar mill near In Waing Village about five hours later and confiscated by the police. An investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.—MOHA
