Two bridges on a road linking upper Sagaing Region and Chin State were inaugurated yesterday by Sagaing Region Chief Minister Dr. Myint Naing.

Nanp Pagun Bridge located between the Mile Posts No. 258/0 and 258/1 is on the Thakkekyin-Phaungpyin-Homelin-Kamti Road. The over 700 ft long bridge is the iron-reinforced type bridge, and can withstand about 60 tons of load.

Nant Sapi Bridge located at the Mile Post No. 253/4 and 253/5 is 420 ft long and it can withstand about 60 tons of load.

Thanks to the completion of the two bridges, the residents in the Naga Self-Administered Zone and upper Sagaing Region can get easy accessible to border twon Moreh in India and Tamu in Sagaing Region.

About 330-mile long Thakkekyin-Phaungpyin-Homelin-Kamti Road and over 60-mile long PhaungPyin-Pinlebu Road have been upgraded to all-weather roads.

Upgrading of the 70-mile long Monywa-Yargyi-Kalewa Road is expected to be completed by October, 2020, and upon completion of the road, the road transportation between. Myanmar and India will also smooth.
