Two jetties have been constructed in Mingun and Nwenyein regions in Sagaing in the 2018-2019FY to provide smooth transportation to locals and tourists, said U Aung Thu Oo, the head of Sagaing Region’s Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.

“The numbers of visitors coming to Sagaing Region has increased compared with the previous year. Therefore, the regional government has constructed the two jetties for the convenience of travelers. There are two jetties in Mingun region, and there is only one jetty in Nwenyein region. The main reason for constructing the two jetties is boosting the tourism sector in the region,” he said.

The jetty connecting Sagaing hill to Mingun measures 20 feet in length and 50 feet in width. The two jetties were built under the supervision of the Sagaing Region Government for visitors who wish to come and observe the traditional glazeware industry in Nwenyein region via maritime transport.—Win Oo (Translated by La Wonn)
