Two rockets have been fired into Baghdad's Green Zone, where the US embassy is located. The attack is possibly in retaliation for the US killing of Iran's top military commander.
Iraqi forces say the rockets hit the capital's heavily fortified zone on Wednesday evening. The district houses government buildings and other foreign missions in addition to the US embassy. There have been no reports of casualties.
Iraqi insurgents backed by Iran have been seeking revenge for last week's killing of Qassem Soleimani.
Some blame forces hostile to the US for Wednesday's attack.
