A gunman opened fire at a high school in the US state of California on Thursday morning, leaving two students dead and three others wounded.
Police told a news conference that the suspect is a 16-year-old student of the school in the city of Santa Clarita, near Los Angeles.
Police say the suspect opened fire on school grounds after pulling a gun out of his backpack. They add he shot himself in the head after the attack and was taken to a hospital.
Police are analyzing the school's security camera footage. They are also looking into the shooter's motive.
