THE Union Election Commis­sion (UEC) and the Myanmar National Human Rights Com­mission (MNHRC) held a co­ordination meeting on 8 July 2025 at the UEC Office in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

The meeting was attended by UEC Chairman U Ko Ko, Commission Member U Khin Maung Oo, and Secretary U Ye Yint Lwin, MNHRC Chair­man U Paw Lwin Sein, together with Members U Tin Aung and U Win Hlaing Oo (aka) Cung Zamone.

 

Both Chairpersons empha­sized the importance of ensur­ing that elections are free, fair, transparent, inclusive, and in full compliance with existing laws and established stand­ards.

 

Discussions focused on a wide range of topics, including key activities to be undertaken during the pre-election, election day, and post-election phases; mechanisms for election obser­vation and monitoring; facilita­tion of voting for persons with disabilities, elderly citizens, and pregnant women; enhancing public awareness and voter ed­ucation for election; demonstra­tion of the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM).
