THE multiparty democratic general election, which began on 28 December 2025, was successfully conducted in three phases as a free and fair process in line with democratic standards.
Despite various challenges, political parties participated enthusiastically, and voters turned out responsibly, demonstrating strong civic engagement.
According to the Union Election Commission, there were 24.22 million eligible voters across all three phases, with more than 13.14 million casting their ballots, representing a voter turnout of 54.22 per cent.
An analysis of the eligible electorate shows significant youth representation: 24 per cent aged 18-30, 21 per cent aged 30-40, 20 per cent aged 40-50, 17 per cent aged 50-60, 11 per cent aged 60-70, and seven per cent aged over 70.
The data also indicate that young voters played a prominent role in the overall turnout, highlighting growing youth interest and participation in national affairs. — MNA/KZL
