Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and US-ASEAN Business Council delegation held a meeting in UMFCCI office yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting the visiting delegation discussed about cooperating to increase US investment in Myanmar, increasing job opportunities, development of basic infrastructures, to be on par with the emerging market and industrial development.
US-ASEAN Business Council President & CEO Mr Alexander C Feldman said the main point was to increase investment. The delegation was made up of many US companies and efforts will be made toward increasing trade and cooperation he added.
The discussion also covers the delegation’s desire for rapid development of telecommunication, insurance and wholesale sectors in Myanmar.
US businesses were to participate more in Myanmar’s digital technology, auto industry, small and medium enterprises sectors.
US Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Scot Marciel accompanied US-ASEAN Business Council delegation consisting of business persons and representatives of Abbott, Amazon, Bower Group Asia, Chervon, Chubb, Coca-Cola, Diageo, Ford, Google, Jhpiego, MasterCard and Visa to the meeting.
From UMFCCI side UMFCCI President U Zaw Min Win, Vice Presidents, central executive committee members, executive committee members, local business persons and representatives were in attendance.
