Myawady, 21 February
A ceremony to welcome Myanmar citizens who returned from Thailand on their own volition was held at a reception center in Myawady, Kayin State on 20 February.

Firstly, Kayin State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col Myo Min Naung gave an opening speech and Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand U Myo Myint Than explained matters relating to the returnees. Next, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Disaster Management U Than Htut Swe elaborated on measures taken to welcome Myanmar migrant workers and a Thai immigration official clarified about transferred Myanmar citizens.

Afterwards, the Kayin State Minister for Security and Border Affairs, Kayin State Minister for Bamar Ethnic Affairs U Teza Htut Hlaing Htwe, the Myanmar ambassador and the deputy director-general of the DDM presented items to the Myanmar citizens. Officials from the Immigration and Population Department provided temporary household certificates to 133 returnees from 32 households.—Myat Ko (Dawna Myay)
