Union Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo attended the 12th ASEAN-China Prosecutors-General Conference held at Siem Reap, Cambodia from 6 to 7 November.


Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdech Hun Sen attended and addressed the opening ceremony.


The conference was held under the theme “The Role of Prosecutors in Regionally Combatting Human Trafficking” and Prosecutors-General, Chief Prosecutors and Attorneys-Generals from ASEAN countries and People’s Republic of China and heads of representatives of Hong Kong and Macau discussed legal affairs and experiences.


Prosecutors-General, Chief Prosecutors and Attorneys-General from ASEAN countries and People’s Republic of China signed a joint declaration and agreed on Prosecutors-General, Chief Prosecutors and Attorneys-General of the region to increase cooperation on combating human trafficking.


While attending the conference Union Attorney-General met with People’s Republic of China Chief Prosecutor Mr Zhang Jun and discussed increasing cooperation between Attorney General Office and Chief Prosecutor Office, jointly conducting courses and workshops to study prosecution systems of the two countries, and to mutually assist and support in combating cross border crimes. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
