A ceremony to open a new township office building and to erect a signboard of the office building of Union Betterment Party headed by Thura U Shwe Mann was held in the compound of U Maung Htay’s house on Sakantha road in Lutlatyay ward, Kyaukpadaung township, Nyaung-U district, Mandalay region this morning.

U Htay, organizer in charge of Mandalay region (2) , U Wine ( Retired township education officer), U Thein Soe, Advocate, member of Kyaukpadaung township Organizing Committee, U Han Yin, member of Nyaung-U Township Organizing Committee and U Kyaw Tun, member of Taungtha Township Organizing Committee cut a ribbon to formally open the party’s Kyaukpadaung township office in the presence of Thura U Shwe Mann, the party leader. Then, U Naing Lin Oo, organizer in charge, flanked by young party members, pressed the button to unveil the signboard of the office.

After that U Htay (a) U Maung Htay, organizer in charge of the township introduced the biography of Thura U Shwe Mann, dealing with the work programs of the party. Then, UBP leader Thura U Shwe Mann elaborated on the reasons why the party was founded, followed by presentation on the future work programs of the party by U Ko Ko Naing.

Then, Thura U Shwe Mann answered the quarries raised by new party members and enthusiasts, accepting membership proposals submitted by party delegates from Kyaukpadaung, Nyaung-U and Taungtha townships. The ceremony came to an end after the party leader met with the media. A total of 200 people including party members, enthusiasts from Kyaukpadaung, Bagan, Nyaung-U and Taungtha Townships were present at the ceremony, it is learnt. Nay Aung (IPRD)
