Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw discussed the construction progress of building, road, bridge and urban and housing development in resurgence of COVID-19 during the virtual coordination meeting with the ministry’s officials yesterday.


Firstly, the Union Minister said that the ministry is working to facilitate the transport for the public while accelerating the projects in the respective regions and states. All the engineers in the project sites across the nation need to follow the health guidelines of the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 and the Ministry of Health and Sports and to conduct prevent measures for natural disaster like storm, said the Union Minster, urging that to follow the terms and conditions of the tenders and to present the progress in each financial year.


Deputy Minister Dr Kyaw Lin also discussed the completion of projects in time in accordance with the rules and regulations during the end of budget year and it needs to make efforts to complete the pledged projects, to follow the terms and conditions of tender system and to cooperate with the relevent regions and states government to have good drive in implementing the projects by following the instructions released by the Ministry of Health and Sports while facing the resurgence of COVID19. The Directors of Road Management Department respectively presented about the progresses in construcion sectors including road and bridge construction wroks in each FY via video clip. The Union Minister and his Deputy Minister Dr Kyaw Linn coordinated the discussions, and instructed to make concerted efforts to complete in time and to ensure quality of AC roads.
