Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint visited Photolitho Printing Press on Ngar Htat Kyee Pagoda Road in Bahan Township, Yangon yesterday
Acting Director-General of Printing and Publishing Department (PPD) U Ko Ko Naing reported the printing factory’s history and formation, conditions of printing equipment and work implementation to the Union Minister.
After listening to the reports, the Union Minister said it is required to draw up security plans and abide by the plans for important printing tasks.
He urged the officials to oversee the important printing tasks, and discussed other necessary works.
He also inspected printing machines, raw material warehouses and printing works in the factory.
The PPD’s Photolitho Printing Press under the Ministry of Information was named after ‘Photolithography’ that was combined ‘Photography’ with ‘Lithography’.
The factory is printing school textbooks of the Ministry of Education, the books produced by Sarpay Beikman, Shwe Thwe Weekly Journal and Thuta-Paday-Thar Monthly Book, and also undertaking general printing works of the ministry and outsourced customers.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party inspected the Kyemon Printing Press on Strand Road in Botahtaung Township and preparations for Myanmar Digital News Online Media.—MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
