UNION Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met mem­bers of the National Lit­erary Award Selection Committee and the Sar­pay Beikman Manuscript Award Selection Com­mittee at the meeting hall of the Printing and Publishing Department on the Theinbyu Road in Botahtaung Township yesterday.

In his speech, the Union minister said the National Literary Award for Lifetime Achieve­ment, National Literary Award and Sarpay Beik­man Manuscript Award have been presented in various forms since 1948 up to the present day.

He also urged them to appreciate and hon­our the experts who have dedicated themselves to the literature.

First Vice-Chair U Sein Hlaing (Thura Zaw) of the National Literary Award Selection Commit­tee, Chair U Ohn Maung (Myinmu Maung Naing Moe) of the Sarpay Beik­man Manuscript Award Selection Committee and attendees participated in the discussion, and the Union minister provided proper instructions. — MNA/KTZH
