Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint inspected the works of Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) in Nay Pyi Taw (Tatkon) on the morning of 25 July. The Union Minister firstly held a meeting together with Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung and MRTV’s officials at its meeting hall. During the meeting, MRTV’s Director-General U Ye Naing and the programme directors presented the completion of the Studio preparation for campaign broadcast of 2020 Multi-Party Democracy General Election, renovation and upgrading of broadcast studios of MRTV and processes for MRTV Online Media. Afterwards, the Union Minister and party inspected the sample shooting of traditional ethnic wear, preparation of the studio for campaign broadcast of political parties in 2020 Multi-Party Democracy General Election, 5.1 Surround Sound Studio and newsroom studio.


The broadcasting system of MRTV under the Ministry of Information was started broadcasting into High Definition -HD instead of Standard Definition-SD on 15 February 2020.The officials upgraded the MRTV News Room starting from 21 June of this year and also gave training to the staff to produce broadcast programmes with quality displays and sound system. The broadcast programmes will be launched when the operation is completed in August. —MNA
