Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Ye Aung attended a completion ceremony of motorized sewing machine course no. 24 held at Yangon Region Dagon Myothit (North) Central Training School yesterday morning.

In his address to the event, the Union Minister said the course was conducted to create work opportunities for people from border and rural areas in order for the development of their socio-economic lives. The 100 trainees who attended the course were already tested by National Skill Standard Authority (NSSA) for the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population to present Sewing Machine Operation Level-1 certificates. With the coordination of Labour Department and Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association, the trainees will be systematically employed in three garment factories said the Union Minister.

After delivering his speech, the Union Minister and officials presented course completion certificates and employment letters to the trainees and took a commemorative group photo.

Ministry of Border Affairs had conducted basic and advanced sewing courses with 89,296 trainees completing it. Of these, 2,727 attended motorized sewing machine courses and 2,644 were employed at 29 garment factories in Yangon.

Next, the Union Minister and party were explained about training courses, construction, administrative and welfare matter by Central Training School headmaster. The Union Minister coordinated the necessary and inspected a four-story teaching building constructed with the fiscal year 2018-2019 budget.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and party went to Yangon East District Development Management Office and inspected the vehicles and machineries stored and maintained in the warehouse. The Union Minister provided coordination and instructions. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
