Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe inspected the treatment wards for COVID-19 patients, ICU and Special Isolation Units of Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital (1000-bedded) together with Deputy Minister Dr Mya Lay Sein, Permanent Secretary Dr Thet Khaing Win and other officials. Medical Superintendent Dr Aung Lin Aye and other officials of the hospitals explained extensions of beds, installing of oxygen pipelines and ventilators, preparations for High Dependency Unit and Intensive Care Unit.
The Union Minister appreciated the efforts of healthcare workers, including the Superintendent, specialists and nurses for serving quality healthcare to the public, governmental staff and the Hluttaw MPs from seven regions and states.
He also discussed the support of the ministry for Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital (1000-bedded) to be on par with the Yangon General Hospital, the appointment of hospital staff, management of the hospital in line with the positions, cooperation works and transparent negotiation among hospital staff including doctors and nurses, support of ministry to the hospital, organizing a group to maintain the precious lab and X-ray materials, the importance of information system for hospital and proper rules and regulations for the patients and their family members.
The officials of the hospital later presented cooperation works of hospital staff, the web-based information system of hospital and procurement of medicines and medical supplies.
The Union Minister also instructed for the extension of the information system to be conducted by health information department and eHealth Unit, medicine storages to prevent the drug shortage problems for the emergency patients and plan to spend more for purchasing medicines and medical supplies this year.—MNA (Translated by Khine Thazin Han)
