Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint arrived at Mandalay Region Patheingyi Township Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) yesterday afternoon and inspected the construction of a Community Centre and a hall.
The Union Minister met with Mandalay Region Hluttaw representative U Ye Min Oo, officials from civil society organizations and the local populace at the hall constructed with the donation of the people in the Community Centre and explained about the status of constructing the Community Centre.
The Union Minister said that all over the country, IPRD district and township offices and libraries were transformed into Community Centres with government funds as well as through collaboration for mutual benefit and donation as the present Community Centre.
As the Community, Centres came into existence through such ways, he explained further for it to become public places and to be used effectively.
Next, the Union Minister inspected the preparations made for library, children’s reading room, small museum and physical exercise room in the Community Centre.
The Union Minister also coordinated on conducting debates to commemorate Literati (Sarsodaw) Day, conducting talks for development of children, and constructing volley ball courts and outdoor sports ground in the office compound.
A 22×60 foot building was constructed in Patheingyi Township IPRD compound with about K 22.7 million donated by Hluttaw representatives, township administration committee and donors. The construction was reported to be nearly completed. — District IPRD (Translated by Zaw Min)
