Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint held a meeting with the representatives from Myanmar Music Association, Myanmar Performance Rights Organization, and Myanmar Music Production Organization at the MRTV office in Yangon yesterday.
The Union Minister first delivered the opening speech at the meeting, followed by discussions of Chairman U Tin Oo Lay, Vice-Chairman (1) U Lwin Myint, Vice-Chairman (3) U Soe Moe, General Secretary U Zaw Htoo Aung and Treasurer U Maung Maung Htaik of Myanmar Music Association, Chairman U Myint Moh Aung of Myanmar Performance Rights Organization, and Chairman U Ko Ko Lwin of Myanmar Music Production Organization about the organizational guidelines for Myanmar Music Association, copyright issues, office space for temporary CMOs, and distribution of music albums.
MRTV Director-General U Ye Naing made additional comments, and the Union Minister concluded the meeting with his closing speech.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Information, Vice-Chairman (2) Daw L Khun Yi, Joint Secretary (2) U Hla Aye, Joint Secretary (3) U Min Zaw, and Manager U Nyunt Hlaing Hlaing from Myanmar Music Association.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the Copy Rights and Registration Division under the IPRD in Win Gabar Street, Bahan Township, and met with its staff. He instructed them on media literacy and ethics, copyrights on literary works, and the development of new media.
The Union Minister also inspected the building slated for the committee on forming the Collective Management Organizations for Copyright in the compound of Copy Rights and Registration Division. — MNA
