Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin held discussions with Mr Titon Mitra, the newly-appointed Resident Representative of UNDP in Myanmar, at 10:00 am, on 22 September 2020 via videoconference. During the occasion, the presentation of credentials by Mr Titon Mitra to the Union Minister was conducted through video link.


During the meeting, the Union Minister congratulated the new Resident Representative of UNDP on his appointment and extended warm welcome to Myanmar. They exchanged views on the brief background on cooperation between Myanmar and UNDP as well as the progress of ongoing projects being implemented under UNDP Country Programme (2018-2022)covering the areas of peace and good governance, environmental management, rule of law, anti-corruption, and poverty reduction as well as the implementation of ongoing projects in Rakhine State. They also discussed enhancing cooperation to mitigate the impacts on socio-economic lives of the peoplecaused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
