Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement (SWRR) Dr. Win Myat Aye received United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Mr. Knut Ostby at Maykhalar Hall in minister’s office yesterday morning.

At the meeting, status of soon to be approved national level strategy on closing IDP camps in Kachin, Kayin, Shan and Rakhine states; status of drawing up and implementing region wise work programs once the strategy was approved; coordination between Union level and state government to provide effective humanitarian assistance in Rakhine State; status to date of ASEAN countries’ participation in the process of receiving returnees; humanitarian and development assistants and rehabilitation works for conflict displaced persons in Kachin State and Shan State north and status of cooperation between relevant civil society organizations and non-government organizations were discussed. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
