A ceremony to provide cash assistance for construction of a rural laterite road was held at a basic education middle school (branch) in Taungkhin Village, Kyaukdaga Township in Bago Region on 17 November.

On the occasion, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Wi Myat Aye made an opening address and Deputy Speaker of Bago Region parliament U Kyi Zin gave a speech. Next, the Union Minister presented Ks. 194.473 million contributed by the National Disaster Management Committee to Bago Region Minister for Kayin Ethnic Affairs Naw Pwe Sae , the regional parliament deputy speaker and Assistant Township Administrator U Myo Min Oo for construction of Thahtaygon-Taungkhin inter-village road which was badly damaged by heavy rains in June and July this year.
Afterwards, officials for the Department of Disaster Management presented 2000 sets of school uniform to Township Education Officer U Ko Gyi and Ks. 15 million for construction of a retaining wall through an official.—Khin Ko (Kyaukdaga)
