Reuters and other outlets say the attack on Wednesday night accidentally targeted farmers and laborers in eastern Nangarhar province, injuring another 40 people.
Hours later, in the southern part of the country, a car bombing left 20 people dead and more than 80 injured.
Local authorities say the blast damaged part of a nearby hospital and a number of homes.
