The US government has announced further restrictions on Huawei to cut off the company's access to US technology.
Washington banned exports of computer chips and other electronic components to the Chinese telecom giant last year. In May, it extended the restrictions to sales of semiconductors made with US equipment, even if they come from another country.
On Monday, the US Commerce Department said that Huawei was trying to circumvent the controls. The new restrictions will block sales of foreign-made chips and components that use US technology.
The Commerce Department also added 38 Huawei affiliates in Europe, South America and other regions to a trade blacklist.
A department official told reporters that companies around the world that work for Huawei will be subject to US monitoring.
