UNION Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe called on relevant sectors to collaborate, and urged departmental staff and small-scale producers to utilize digital tools to further develop their enterprises at the “Regional Digital Technology Seminar” held in Nay Pyi Taw on 12 March.
The Department of Small-Scale Industries organized the event under the Mekong-Lanchang Cooperation Special Fund (2024).
The Union minister highlighted that in today’s world, digital technology plays a vital role in national development and better public services. The Department of Small-Scale Industries is currently implementing two-year projects funded by the Mekong-Lanchang Cooperation Special Fund (2024) to bolster Myanmar’s agro-based industries and high-quality production.
The Union minister explained that this regional seminar is a key component of the digital skills enhancement project. Major initiatives under this project include an online registration platform and e-commerce upgrade.
The Union minister concluded by urging related ministries and organizations to collaborate across sectors to develop Myanmar’s digital economy. He encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge gained to their practical workspaces. He reaffirmed that the Ministry will continue to provide necessary assistance to ensure ongoing development. — MT/ZN
