A ceremony to present Ks. 50 m to implement the Village Development Plan in five villages took place at the meeting room of the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in Thazi, Mandalay Region yesterday.
    

 

Speaking on the occasion, Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Kyaw Thiha said that the VDP is to be carried out with the participation of the village administrators in a systematic and transparent manner. Regional Lawmaker U Moe Myint Thein also urged village officials to exercise tolerance in undertaking the plan, saying them to try their best in order to ensure timely completion.
    

 

Next, an official from the DRD clarified the activities being implemented by the DRD and handed over Ks. 50 million to the village development committee members. The DRD started the VDP in Thazi Township in the financial year 2017-2018 and so far the plan had been undertaken in 18 villages.—Min Myint Mo (Ngazun)
