VETERAN scriptwriter U Chit Than Myint has received a donation of K100,000 from Dr Aung Moe through the Myan­mar Motion Pictures Organi­zation (MMPO) for his medical treatment, according to MMPO Vice-Chair U Aye Kyu Lay.

 

U Chit Than Myint, aged 96, resides in Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region, and is currently undergoing medical treatment for age-related illnesses.

 

Speaking about the do­nation, U Aye Kyu Lay stated, “Dr Aung Moe donated K100,000 through our organization to sup­port U Chit Than Myint’s medi­cal expenses. We delivered the donation to him. He fell while standing up after saying his prayers, injuring his back. Since then, he has been unable to sit or walk and is receiving treat­ment at home.”

 

In addition to the K100,000 from the MMPO, the Myan­mar Scriptwriters’ Welfare Association has also contrib­uted K50,000 to assist with his treatment.

 

U Chit Than Myint is a renowned scriptwriter and au­thor of numerous scripts and short stories. In 1995, during the Myanmar Motion Pictures Diamond Jubilee, he served as the Chairman of the Myanmar Film History Compilation Com­mittee. He also contributed to the publication of the books – History of Myanmar Cinema (Silver Jubilee) and History of Myanmar Cinema (Golden Ju­bilee). — ASH/MKKS
