YANGON-BASED Russian Feder­ation Embassy hosted a reception to mark the National Day of the Russian Federation at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon yes­terday evening, attended by Vice-President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Nan Ni Ni Aye.

 

The Vice-President and distinguished guests were welcomed by Charge d’Affaires ad interim Ms Natalia Nefedova of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, the Military Attaché and officials.

 

The ceremony was opened with the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Russian Federa­tion. Charge d’Affaires ad interim Ms Natalia Nefe­dova of the Russian Em­bassy extended greetings.

 

A video clip on the cultural heritage, achieve­ments in the science sector, economic devel­opment, and internation­al affairs sector of the Russian Federation was screened.

 

The Vice-President had dinner along with the guests. During the dinner, the cultural troupes from the Russian Federation performed traditional cultural dances and songs.

 

After the dinner, the Vice-President had doc­umentary photos taken together with the distin­guished guests.

 

Also present at the re­ception were Union Min­isters U Than Maung and his wife, and Dr Maung Thin, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) Lt-Gen Ko Ko Oo, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Com­mander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of the Yangon Command and his wife, Deputy Minister Dr Nay Chi Lae Lae Thein, Yangon City Development Committee Chairman Mayor U Myo Myint Aung, Ambassadors and Charges d’Affaires ad interim from foreign embassies in Yan­gon, Military Attachés and guests. — MNA/TTA
