The government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the Telecom International Myanmar Co., Ltd (Mytel) and the Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) donated cash funds and face masks to the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the Department of Medical Research of the Ministry of Health and Sports at the meeting hall of the head office of the department on Ziwaka Road, Dagon Township in Yangon at 10:30 am yesterday.

At the donation ceremony, Mr Ly Quoc Tuan, the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, delivered a speech.

Director-General of Department of Medical Research Dr Zaw Than Htun spoke words of gratitude, received the cash funds and facemasks presented by Mr Ly Quoc Tuan, and officials from Mytel and the BIDV, and returned certificates of honour to the donors.

At the donation ceremony, the government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam donated US$ 50,000 to the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), Mytel donated $5,000 and 30,000 facemasks to the Department of Medical Research, and the BIDV donated K2 million to the department.
