THE Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda Festival in Minbu (Sagu) Township, Magway Re­gion, featured two nights of traditional music performances on 18 and 19 March. Fa­mous artistes entertained and pilgrims and locals enjoyed the shows in a peaceful and happy atmosphere.

 

The performances took place on a special stage near the main bridge, starting at 8 pm each night. Min Htwe theatrical troupe led the event, with well-known actors, singers, and musicians performing with Shwe Khine Zaw’s Myanmar orchestra. At the second night, over ten thousand visitors participated in the lively event.

 

This year, the festival runs for 75 days from 2 February to 17 April including the Maha Thing­yan holidays. — Maung Maung (Minbu)/KZL
