With a view to creating a better job opportunity for rural people and boosting their social-economic status, a free training course on masonry and carpentry was opened at the meeting room of the Department of Rural Development (DRD) in Htantabin Township located on the western border of central Yangon Region on 8 November.

At the event, chairman of the Township Administration Council U Hla Myint and member-1 of the Township Administration Council delivered speeches. Next, an official from the Township DRD clarified the purposes of the training course. Then, course instructors introduced the subject to be taught in the training. Afterwards, officials handed over teaching aid materials to the trainees.

A total of 20 trainees from rural villages in the township will be given practical and theoretical lectures by two course instructors during the 30-day training course which runs from November 8 to December 7 this year.—Ko Nyo(DRD)
