Hpa-an, 14 November

An advanced tailoring course was opened in conjunction with a traditional weaving training course at a vocational training school in Hpa-an, the capital city of Kayin State on 13 November.

On the occasion, Chief Minister of Kayin State Daw Nang Khin Htwe Myint delivered an opening address and presented foodstuff provided by the local government to the principal of the vocational training school. Next, the principal elaborated on the matters relating to the training course and those present viewed round the teaching aid materials. The 18-week two training courses are being attended by 50 trainees throughout the township.

The courses conducted by the Department of Education and Training under the Ministry of Border Affairs aim to educate local women with vocational training, thereby contributing to increasing their income.—Nay Myo Lwin (IPRD)
