Vice President U Myint Swe received Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, the Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday afternoon.
The meeting focused on promotion of bilateral relations, trade, investment, tourism, friendship ties between the two militaries and exchange visits of senior officers.
The call was also attended by Union Minister for Defence Lt-Gen Sein Win, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs U Soe Han, Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Mrs Luan Thuy Duong and officials.—MNA
