With a view to ensuring sufficient drinking water for local people, a water fetching system has been installed in Monglway Village, Mongyang Township in Eastern Shan State since the second week of June.

The water supply task has been 100 percent finished, according to a source from the Department of Rural Development. The water fetching system measuring 1-mile-4-furlong was undertaken by spending Ks. 15.213 million funds allotted by the local government. In addition to the water fetching system, a brick tank capable of storing 5,000 gallons of water has been constructed since this June, said U Thet Lin Tun, the staff officer from the DRD.
Now adequate drinking water can be distributed to 1,015 local people from 157 households in the village.—Nyein Thu
