The National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) welcomed donations of cash and hospital equipment by business firms, associations and individuals at the Ministry of Health and Sports in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
 

Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe, the Secretary (2) of the central committee, received the donations.
 

On behalf of the donors, U Ko Ko Gyi, the chairman of People’s Party, explained the donations and returned certificates of honour. The Union Minister expressed thanks for aid which will be used in anti-COVID-19 measures and in upgrading of intensive care units at the hospitals for the positive patients.
 

The donations on 2 April included K30 million from CB Bank, K10 million from U Soe Thein and wife (Shwe Baho BRC Factory and Nyein Chan Thu Company), K13.08 million from the Central Cooperative Society and regional member societies, K13.2 million from well-wishers abroad and home, K6 million from Luoyang Northern Ek Motorcycle Co., Ltd (Dagon Motorcycle China), K2.5 million from U Kyaw Zin Tun (Autumn Flower Co., Ltd) and K5 million and 100 units of personal protective equipment from the People’s Party.—MNA
