Phakant 29 May
Well-wishers donated more than Ks. 230 million to respective school committees and headmasters to fulfill the requirements of the schools in Phakant Town, Kachin State.
The contributions were made during an event to mark school enrolment day held at Pyinnyar Yadanar Hall of the basic education high school in Phakant on 28 May. The donors knew which school needs financial assistance as we systematically compiled the data of the schools throughout the town under the guidance of the chairman of the township management committee. I also would like to express many thanks to the well-wishers for donating cash assistance, said U Htein Lin, Township Education Officer.

Well-wishers from gem companies, jade entrepreneurs, social organizations and philanthropists donated cash to renovate schools, construct extended school facilities, and buy school furniture. Donors used to fulfill the basic needs of schools in the area when school enrolment day is held every year.—Tar Lin Maung (IPRD)
