THE award ceremony for the short story, article, poetry, and photography competitions marking the fifth National Sports Festival (2024) was held at 10 am yesterday at the Union Hall of the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon), located within Kyaikkasan Sports Grounds, Tamway Township, Yangon Region.
Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, who also chairs the Myanmar Olympic Committee, attended the event together with Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, who serves as the patron of the Regional Sports and Physical Education Committee. Also in attendance were regional ministers, as well as the president and officials of the Myanmar Sports Media Federation. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the first, second, third, and consolation places.
Following the ceremony, the Union minister, the chief minister, and regional ministers visited an exhibition showcasing the award-winning short stories, articles, poems, and photographs.
In 2024, as part of the Fifth National Sports Festival, competitions were held in four categories — short story, article, poetry, and photography. A total of 37 short stories, 40 articles, 41 poems, and 410 photographs were submitted by participants. — Arkarlin/MKKS
