A total of 3,356 acres of winter onions have been planted across 12 village tracts in Yenangyaung Township, Magway Region, this winter planting season, and the crops are thriving.

This year’s winter crop planting season has seen a total of 3,356 acres of winter onions planted across 12 village tracts in Yenangyaung Township, according to the Township Land Records Department.

In Yenangyaung Township, onions are grown commercially, alongside rice, beans, and other vegetables. Additionally, to boost the supply of edible oil, oilseeds such as peanuts, sesame, and sunflower are also cultivated.— Soe Thu Aung (Township IPRD)
