A woman was found dead with stab wounds in the village of Yedwingone village in Pinbaw village-tract in Mogaung Township, Kachin state yesterday.

According to information received, police members led by Police Inspector Soe Lwin of Pinbaw police station went to the scene where they were reported that the victim was Mar Mar Win, 25, a daughter of Daw Kyi Win. The police was informed that the victim who was working for Mohnyin Technological College was found dead with each cut in her left cheek and throat and each stab wound in her abdomen and right ribs.

According to the victim’s mother, her daughter, returning back from asking for donations for “Dhamma Razika” pagoda at about 2:00 pm, was in the kitchen together with a man with whom she became acquainted in a passenger train. The man was known to be from Myazeya ward in the town of Hopin. According to her unanswered phone call, Daw Kyi Win at about 4:00 pm went home and witnessed that her daughter was in the blood pool with stab wounds.

Two knives stained with blood, one 20-inch long chopper with bamboo handle and one 10-inch knife with wood handle, were found near the victim. The investigation is ongoing to arrest the murderer, according to the police station.— Win Naing ( Kachin Myay)
