The closing ceremony of a wood and bamboo handicraft course took place at a monastery on Kyauktaw Village, Nawngkhio Township in Northern Shan State this morning.
The course was jointly conducted by the Small Scale Industry Department and the community-based tourism committee (Nawngkhio) under the management of the Hotels and Tourism. At the ceremony, Director of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Taunggyi Branch) U Htin Aung Naing gave a concluding speech.
The Deputy Director of the Small Scale Industry Department U Thet Naing Oo, Chairperson of Ever Green Environmental Conservation Association Prof. Dr. Sein Sein Thein and Souvenir Manufacturers Association Chairman (Northern Shan State) U Thein Min Tun discussed pros and cons of wood and bamboo based handicrafts and its market prospects. Next, concerned officials presented completion certificates to the trainees.—IPRD
