Member of the State Admin­istration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, accompa­nied by Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing, arrived at Anisakhan air­field in PyinOoLwin Township on 5 July. The General inspected the ongoing upgrades at the airport and issued necessary instruc­tions.

 

On 6 July, the General visit­ed Myanma Railways’ Mandalay Station. The managing director and officials briefed the General on train operations, staff man­agement, passenger and freight transport. The Union minister inspected the cleanliness and functions of Mandalay Station, reviewed the security proto­cols, coordinated with Myanma Railways and Myanma Post to streamline mail delivery by train, and addressed employee welfare concerns. He also reviewed the progress of upgrading the plat­form, carriage shed, and parcel services.

 

At Road Transport Adminis­tration Department in Mandalay, he instructed officials and staff to serve their duties diligently, check staff needs in offices and staff housings, and provide train­ing to enhance their capacity.

 

At passenger carriage and wagon factory in Myitnge, the General urged staff to read books for widening their scope of knowl­edge.

 

The General viewed round repairing of carriages, construc­tion of container carriages re­ports.

 

Afterwards, the General comforted patient staff at My­itnge Hospital and inspected availability of hospital equipment.

 

On 7 July, the General viewed round maintenance of rail tracts, bridge frames and level-crossings from Mandalay Station to Meik­tila Station via Mandalay-Thazi sagment. — MNA/TKO
