A workshop with the title “Bat­tery Waste Management and Recycling for Electric Vehicles and Sustainable Renewable Energy”, was held at the Min­istry of Industry on 11 March to systematically manage expired and damaged batteries when electric vehicles become more widely used.

 

Chair of Work Committee for Setting Policies, Standards and Procedures for Develop­ment of EV and Related In­dustries Deputy Minister for Industry U Yin Maung Nyunt said that the five work com­mittees are cooperating with each other in the relevant sectors, and the research and development work committee is cooperating with relevant departments and organiza­tions in implementing the policies for battery production techniques and management of waste batteries in various electric vehicles.

 

The deputy minister pledged to cooperate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conserva­tion in drafting the policy on Lithium battery waste man­agement system.

 

Afterwards, the Managing Director of Proven Technology Industry Co Ltd widely dis­cussed the Lithium Battery Waste Management System.

 

The attendees asked what they wanted to know and what was not clear and the officials discussed it the detail.
