19 September
Domestic bamboo growers, bamboo entrepreneurs, and bamboo artisans jointly organized an event to mark the 4th World Bamboo Day 2019 at Yangon University on 18 September with the aim of promoting bamboo-based products through sharing knowledge.
Under the arrangement of the Myanmar Network for Bamboo and Rattan (MYANBAR), bamboo growers, business entrepreneurs, bamboo artisans, exporters, enthusiasts, and bamboo-related associate businesses attended the event. Industrial products, housing materials, machines, handmade designs, and products related to bamboo were displayed in booths at the event.

Moreover, MYANBAR, along with associate businesses, plans to forward a draft strategy to the government to formulate a policy on bamboo to help develop bamboo businesses.
U Khin Maung Yee, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, U Kyaw Thu, the chairman of the Myanmar Rattan and Bamboo Entrepreneurs Association, and officials from related departments and international bamboo organizations attended the event.
