Wundwin, 24 February
A final match of men’s open football contest took place in conjunction with a prize awarding event at the township sports ground in Wundwin, Mandalay Region yesterday evening.
First, the chairman of the township football association U Tun Naing explained the purpose of competition and an official from the Sports and Physical Education Department clarified sport development activities in the township. Next, the Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Soe Min Htet, Township Administrator U Myo Tint and the head of township police force Police Major Kyaw Myint Shwe presented cash, awards and individual prizes to winning teams and players.
The tourney, the first of its kind in the township was organized by the township football association with 22 participating teams.—Htay Hlaing (IPRD)
