A ceremony to provide cash assistance to people whose homes were damged by floods triggered by Typhoon Yagi was held at Myoma priya monastery in Kalaw Township of Southern Shan State at 9:45 am on 19 December.

During the ceremony, U Khun Thein Maung, Shan State Minister of Economic Affairs and U Soe Myint, Chairman of Kalaw District Administration Body comforted 342 local people whose homes were damaged by floods.

On the occasion, flood victims in Kalaw Township received K 1,750,000 each. Afterwards, a resident spoke words of thanks to officials on behalf of flood victims.

Out of 1,249 flood victims in Kalaw Township who lost their homes during Typhoon Yagi, 342 were given cash assistance today, and the remaining flood victims in the Township will continue to receive cash assistance.—Township IPRD
