“THE Yangon Book Street or the Saturday-Sunday Book Street” on Theinbyu Road in Botahtaung Township has attracted local and foreign bookworms.

 


“I bought several genres of books for my children so that they can read books in summer holidays. Because, I want to encourage their reading habits since their childhood,” said U Zaw Win from Thingangyun Township.

 


The Yangon Book Street, with nearly 70 book stalls, has offered different genres of books _ translated books, books in English, old and new fiction and non-fiction books, short stories, novels, books on religion, social, education, health, culture, medical books, English-Myanmar dictionaries, tales, books for children, etc.

 


The Save the Library conducted its Human Library reading program in the morning. In the afternoon, writer Htet Myat gave a literary talk titled “The political literati whom I respect”, and Htain Win Publishing House conducted a puzzle programme, with the participation of Actor Shwe Poe Eain.
