YANGON will celebrate the five-day Thadingyut light festival  downtown  at  Maha  Bandoola Park to mark the end of the four-month rain-retreat.

The  festival  will  be  held  from  10  to  14  October,  with  lights projecting 30 prominent icons, including the tradition-al  Shan  long  drum,  owl,  and  rabbit.Besides, well-wishers will donate  food  to  30,000  people  on  13  October,  the  Fullmoon  of Thadingyut.

Artistes  will  perform  at  night during the festival.The Yangon City Develop-ment Committee office down-town  will  also  be  lit  up,  with  the lights depicting the YCDC and  dolls.
